Adding an existing account

This guide walks you through adding and linking additional Hedera accounts to the Transaction Tool beyond your primary account for monitoring purpose. Added accounts display real-time balance and transaction information, making it easier to track multiple accounts and manage transactions across different account IDs.


Prerequisites

Before you begin, you should have completed the following:

You should also have:

  • Hedera Account: A valid Hedera account that you want to monitor, If you don't have one See Create an Account for detailed instructions.

  • Account ID: Know the Account ID (format: 0.0.xxxxxx) of the account you want to monitor


Adding Account steps

Launch the tool and Select Network

  • Open the application and select the correct network (mainnet, testnet, previewnet, Local node or custom) for the account you want to add.


Navigate to Accounts

  • Select Accounts from the left navigation panel.


Start Adding an Account

  • Select Add New then choose Add Existing from the dropdown menu.


Provide Account Details

  • Account ID: Enter the Hedera Account ID you want to track.

    • Format: 0.0.1234 (where 1234 is your account number)

    • Example: 0.0.3456

  • Nickname (Optional): Provide a descriptive name for easy identification.

    • Example: "Treasury Account" or "Main Operations"


  1. Select Link Account.

  2. You should now see your account listed, and it will update in real-time whenever you view it.


Account Information Displayed

Once added, each account shows:

  • Account ID and nickname (if provided)

  • Current HBAR balance

  • Recent transaction activity

  • Account status and properties
